When Jeremy and I started this site it was to do one thing: help promote all the amazing things our friends are doing. That was literally all we wanted to do. We started by developing my show, Tell Me Something I Want to Hear. Then we added other podcasts, and blogs and projects, and included more friends and people we believe in until we had no choice other than to do this.
TELL ME SOMETHING RECORDS
It's the only logical thing to do. Yes, we've seen the numbers. We see the decline of record sales. We know, but to be quite honest - we don't care. We like this. We want to help support the artists that we love and so with that in mind, next month we are launching Tell Me Something Records.
With the help of the fine folks at Squarespace we are currently building an online store that will house the digital releases of some of our favorite artists. The first of which will be the debut full-length album by our friend, Floww Mosley! We're so excited to be working with Floww and be able to have the opportunity to help get his music out there.
It seems crazy to say but, Floww and I have been friends for over a decade now. I mean, I have known him so long that I call him "Harold" (sorry Floww...) It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were joking around and getting kicked out of Algebra class. In high school we made music together, in college we made a documentary together and now that we're adults we are going into 'bizznizz' together. Over the past decade I have watched Floww transition from some funny, punk-kid with something to say to a grown man with something to say.
His debut album "FREE SPEECH" will have a digital release next month. But wait! There's more! We understand that as fellow music lovers you want to have that 'thing'. We like things too. I like supporting the music I love so much that I participated in 'Cassette Store Day' this year. I bought a Fucked Up cassette and guess what, I LOVED IT! That's why we are offering the first 20 people who order the digital release of "FREE SPEECH" a free cassette version of the album featuring several bonus tracks.
This is happening. We hope you can be a part of it.
Below is one such 'bonus track'. From Floww "They cool but they ain't good enough for the album for me. But they're solid joints. I gotta go eat a plate of eggs now."
