Can something be beautiful and murderous? An aesthetically pleasing killing machine? Yes, it can. That’s how I feel when I look at axes. Is this weird? There is something about the design of the axe that cuts to the core of what I am as a person. They are manly and refined – like a Burt Reynolds mustache. Every time I am window-shopping online I am always drawn to these things. Now in the past I have never used an axe, although I grew up in Ohio we weren’t really an “axe family”. In my adult life I still have never had the need for one. Below are four axes I will buy to pretend I am a Burt Reynolds level man.
Top Left: M48 Ranger Hawk - Lightweight, durable, nylon handle. $40
Top Right: Gerber Gator Combo - Two-in-one design, forged steel, textured grip. $35
Bottom Left: Unbreakable Hatchet - Reinforced fiberglass handle, steel blade, lifetime warranty. $30
Bottom Right: Uncle Pimpys Fire Axe - Vintage Fireman Axe, polished steel, custom handles. $325
