Remember when we had "Fakesgiving" together? (For those of you that don't know. Dylan’s first year in Boston, he invited me over to break from our traditional family values and have a pre-Thanksgiving together. So I drove from Toledo to Boston and got in at like 2 a.m. I ended up sleeping for about 4 hours and then spent 9 hours exploring Boston.)
We saw the sights, we bought hot dogs at Spikes, and we recorded an episode of Tell Me Something I Want to Hear. (Check it out!) I talked about my previous life as a high school teacher and my parents ... which I want to go on record saying I regret judging them for being “too religious” just because we don’t always see eye-to-eye.
After a fun-filled and exhausting day, I hopped back in the car for a heaping helping of traditional family values, heading now to Virginia to be with my family for “real” Thanksgiving. When I got to the homestead, I realized my heart was just as much in Boston as it was in Virginia. I had one of the best times of my life with you and Keri that trip. I would say there was nothing “fake” about our feast, except of course, maybe the “all-beef” hot dogs, but looking back, there sure was a lot to be thankful for.
I want to share that sense of adventure with people this fall -- have an intentional meal and talk with them -- so I propose we have a campout in both of our cities. If anyone is interested in joining us, shoot me a message. Use the subject “TMS Camp 2015.” I will post more details as we get closer to setting dates.
I'd love to hang with people, enjoy making s'mores, campfires, and cooking vegan hot dogs (BYOBHD - Bring your own beef hot dogs).
Campfires & Sleeping Bags,
PS - We could make DIY-styled Best Made Co. axes for the weekends and empower people to customize their own American-made axe either through Best Made Co. or even an axe from the hardware store for an economically savvy option. Though, if you are going to buy an axe, I would encourage you to choose an American-made company. Let’s talk.
(“HEY YOU’S GUYS,” Who’s with me?!?)
