Episode 44: In Your Face, Brian! with Mark Waid

Welcome to another installment of The Hour Cosmic, your favorite comics game show! This week, our guest is one of the all-time greats, Mr. Mark Waid!

On this week’s show, among other things, we discuss:
-Matt's con crud!
-Brian's lack of any knowledge whatsoever!
-How great NYCC was (except for Chad)!

Let’s meet our guest, shall we?

Mark Waid is a writer who has done just about everything that a man of words can do in comics - he's created a successful digital imprint, Thrillbent, written for DC and Marvel, even serving as Editor-in-Chief and Chief Creative Officer for Boom! Studios. Currently, Waid is writing "Daredevil" and "Indestructible Hulk" for Marvel, "The Fox" for Archie, "The Green Hornet" and the just announced "The Occult Files of Doctor Spektor" for Dynamite Entertainment. As we were recording, he was appearing on television as part of the new PBS documentary, Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle. Oh, and now he's a comic shop owner, too. You can find him on Twitter (@MarkWaid), and make sure to check out the totally free comics available as part of Thrillbent.

As always, your hosts are:

Chad Bowers – South Carolinian, GI Joe enthusiast, co-writer of “Subatomic Party Girls" “Down Set Fight,” and “Awesome Hospital” with Chris Sims, and writer of “Monster Plus.” He teaches us cool expressions like “Oh, snakes!” and has a lot of opinions about barbeque.

Brian Salvatore – New Jerseyan, New York Mets enthusiast, host of “Input/Output,” a music podcast, and occasional blogger/freelance writer. He has never met a dog he didn’t like (even that one that bit his leg when he was 10), and has baked better bread than he ever thought possible.

Matthew Meylikhov is sick. Boo.
