"77% of all blog posts on the Internet are bloggers apologizing for not blogging more." Scotty Connolly, 2013
It’s a sad day in the USA when a podcast gets cancelled. I’m not even entirely sure if it's possible. Is it? Podcasts don’t get cancelled, people just stop. It has now been two years since the last episode of Tell Me Something I Want to Hear, the show that started this website, gave us an idea and helped launch a series of other projects.
Throughout the first three seasons of TMSIWTH we got to talk with some pretty remarkable people; Wheat, Eddie Pepitone, Melissa Auf Der Maur, We Are Scientists, John Elliott, Steve Almond, Spirits of the Red City. They were fantastic and I loved having the opportunity to talk with these artists that have created some of my favorite things ever.
Now, during the break between Season 3 and now I have been working with a lot of very talented people, and Tim Cahill, to retool the show. When we started talking about what we wanted to do for Season 4 I felt that I want it to be more than just a buncha dipshits talking. Every podcast is an interview, and I want it this new version of the show be more than that. I want it to be… a buncha dipshits chatting, and reading, and playing songs, and cracking wise and hopefully being compelling and nice and interesting.
The new show will follow the theme of the mixtape. In each episode we will feature a series of short segments on a common theme or idea; segments will range from interviews, live performances, written essays, music, and comedy bits. All joined together in a weird podcast mixtape, hosted by me, sorry. We have been working the past couple of months putting the final touches on the new format and developing stories and content for the show, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you all.
I'm delighted to let you know that in NOVEMBER 2013 the BRAND NEW Tell Me Something I Want To Hear will plop right here on this page. As much as this is my, apology for not blogging, it’s also a "I hope you enjoy what we are working on." Thanks for being people who aren’t butt-heads.
I want to leave you with a little teaser for the brand new episode that comes out 11/25/13. -Dylan
